View Full Version : When are you done bare shaft tuning?
tresmon 08-15-2007, 07:47 PM So there I was 18 yards away from the target. I had let loose with three fletched arows. Next, I intended to let loose with 2 bare shafts. Well I heard on odd clack and boy was I suprised to see that the 1st. bare shaft had went into one of the fletched arrows in their neaxt little group.
So I'm bragging on YOU. 2.5 weeks ago I had a new bare bow in my hand and new next basically nothing. Reading on here, searching countless posts and asking questions and getting good answers has helped me get my 30 yard groups down to about 4" (SEMI-consistently) and has taught me how to be good enough bow tuner to put a bare shaft into the back of a fletched shaft. If I had to do it over again, I would not, I can't afford to replace arrows right now. I have broke the bank getting set up to hunt/compete archer style.
I know, this is no great feat. It is not worth mentioning for almost everyone else here. But like I said, 2.5 weeks ago, I was green, didnt know form, posture, how to (not) hold the bow, etc. you guys have put me ahead of the learning curve, One and one very kind and generous local man.
Thanks all.
