You see Smokes, when you get a new Mathews, it comes with a manual. In the back it lists reasons why some crazy people resist the fact that Mathews is the best bow in the Galaxy.
Under Martin shooters, it says that there is a magical concoction produced in Walla Walla, Washington at the Martin factory. This concoction is delicious and sweet and therefore is known as Kool Aid. Legend has it that anyone given this drink will immediately become M4L and live only for all things Martin. Once you have drank from the glass, and become a mindless Martin drone, any and all comments that you make regarding the awesomeness of Martin's bows becomes null and void because you are now under the spell of the magic Kool Aid.
Bowman believes everything he reads like all the other Fanboys. That's why their marketing works.....:biggrin1:
Cameron 08-18-2007, 12:55 PM Well my Mathews came with a smilie face sticker from Walmart, and my Bowtech came with split limbs, but I still can't buy a Martin.

Deer have white on them to signal and identify each other. Ever see a tail go up to alert, or wag to flash white to signal? Duh! They lock right on it!
As a slide, I doubt it would make a difference until too late. Use a Sharpy to dull it. I do
Just keep white off your vanes. they will spot them farther out than you think, and even up in the trees. Educated deer look up and around too.
Sniper 08-18-2007, 03:08 PM And consider a "WindStalker" cable guard. It will really help with vane clearance and torque

tresmon 08-18-2007, 07:20 PM I have been doing the forum thing for 5-6 years. I'm a member of a military only tactical forum, was on a Supra racing forum, a preadator hunting forum, and browse many others. Each forum develops it's own culture, lead by the moderators. Are there moderators here to keep everyone in check? Do they take their positions serious? Do they still have a pulse?
I really appreciate the answers I have got from many. But must say overall this is the most disrespectful and "unkept" forum I have ever took part in. I'm thinking of packing my bags and moving on on this one.
You can have my thread. bye.

I'm just a simple hillbilly that was taught to say "Sir", Maam" to give respect, and be respected. I was taught to treat others, the way I hope to be treated. The USMC pressed this upon me far beyond what my folks were able.
You question my Christianity, good, I need to continually examine myself, and I consider input offered from those around me. There are lot's of good'ol boys in the bars, etc. It's just not the place for me. There is nothing unchristian about preferring the company of respecful, well behaved folk.
I have nor hold anything against anyone here. It's just looking like it's shaping up to not be my kind of hang out. Merely an issue of preference. I can chat bows/hunting all day long over on predatormasters.com, where everyone does, and is reminded to treat others as they like to be treated, in not so many words. Finest bunch of folk on the WWW. And sure, we "rag" one another all the time, but were appropriate, and never by hijacking anyone's thread.
Just common courtisies, which perhaps never again will be common. My one regret: This could be one of the finest forums on the net seems like, if the moderators would just keep everyone guided loosely towards repect.
What exactly are you upset about? Bowman and jcm were going at it pretty good, but they were joking and I didn't see anything disrespectful toward you? :noidea:

jcmorgan31 08-18-2007, 09:04 PM Dude......you received several valid answers to your question. What more do you want???? The thread did it's job, we just kept it going to have a little entertainment at each others expense. By doing so, we kept it at the top of the forum where it would receive more attention. Had we not, it would have drifted back and back into nothin.
This is what we do here. We are like a bunch of brothers and sisters. We answer the questions asked, then we rib each other and enjoy ourselves. Don't take it personal. I've had my threads hijacked every time. But my question was always answered also.
I felt the same way you do when I first came here. I didn't understand any of what these guys were babbling about on my threads. Once you are here a while and get to know everyone, it all makes sense and becomes entertainment.
Moderators are used to make sure things remain civil and not vulgar. We take care of that ourselves. Chris is the forum owner and does what is required when it is needed. If you want to me moderated into a coma, there are plenty of other forums to do that for you...

It seems funny that you would complain about something as minor as a hi-jack and then make a personal attack. Calling people idiots is more disrespectful than a little hi-jack, sooooo, go back to where ever you have been!

The question I always ask myself before "hijacking" a thread is "Has the question been answered and have multiple opinions been expressed on the topic" in this case I think someone hijacked to early.
Maybe an alternate forum might be worth while but I don't think its needed in all honesty.

tresmon 08-19-2007, 11:20 AM What does a little hijacking hurt after a few serious answers?
I know of at least two forums where no one hijacked a pertinant thread, and it has become an immense data base of information on the specific topic, threads that are years old,but still current and still on topic. That is an INVALUBLE reasource. I-N-V-A-L-U-B-L-E.
Here? threads are shot down LONG before they can give a "PHD" education on the specific topic. Makes this sight overall "cheap" and shallow.
I decided to give it a few days, hang WAY back, and give this forum a chance to better itself to it's full potential.:rain:

yup Cheap and Shallow thats us... enjoy your "hanging way back"
btw - I would suggest you look back at all the other threads you've posted. Each of them with a question that received a large number of very pertinant information and none were hijacked. So basically you are getting pissed because one thread was hijacked out of the 10 you've started. One of which went 58+ posts on topic.
So you are upset because a question about a cable slide got hijacked and your other 10 were answered 100% fully.
jcmorgan31 08-19-2007, 12:54 PM Come on Dred..... Surely a cable guard slide question can receive 20 pages of feedback worthy of making a sticky for all future generations to reference..... There are sooooo many types and colors and they are such integral pieces of a properly tuned bow.
Everyone surely has tested 4 or 5 different ones and can give the pros and cons to each.......:noidea:

Dredly 08-19-2007, 02:12 PM The guy doesn't want people hijacking his threads. It's his thread right? He states his reasons why he thinks hijacking is disrespectful and you come back with this? Just answer the man's question and go to the off topic section to clown around.
No he said we are "cheap and shallow" even after fully answering (in depth) a large number of his questions and threads, providing our input and giving suggestions.
What would he have said if he only got 2 responses and his thread disappeared? he would probably be just as upset as if the thread was hijacked.

This guy needs to be realistic. Like I said before. This thread would have made maybe 6 replies and lasted a day. By hijacking it, I did the guy a favor. It is still at the top and people are still looking at it. If someone has a recommendation as to which of the billion cable slides this guy can buy, then post it. Had it not been for the hijack, it would have been long gone.
Maybe I'm just destined to not get along with guys with "sniper" in their names...:noidea:

JC I don't have anything against you. Your post was just the lucky one that I "quoted". It could have been many. I understand that the hijacking got the thread up top, but it didn't offer any information to the thread starter.
There was a thread a few days back that stated that there were 7 members online and 50 something guest. There might be a reason for this.
outdoorsman 08-19-2007, 03:23 PM man... i cant be gone for a few days without all this :boxing: :argue: :fencing:
i think yall need to  and make up...... why cant everyone just have fun and get along.... and learn something at the same time.....
if it were just answers to questions i would not have stayed around... it would have been like school then ... and i didnt like sitting still being quiet ... much more fun to goof off and learn at the same time... i need a little humor after a hard day at work.....

Lucky me huh????
I see what you are saying, and I understand what tresmon is saying also...I will pay more attention to whose threads I'm replying in from now on. If you want a serious answer to a question, post it on AT. You'll get 50 replies in a couple hours. If you post a snoozer like that one, it will be shuffled down in a hurry.
poorman 08-19-2007, 03:41 PM Well.... Heres my .02
I come here because its not like AT. I can have a little more freedom here in what I say. I am also adult and smart enought to know that if I dont get the anwser here that I want I can go to AT and ask again. It is my opinion if you want AT then go to AT. These are two totally different types of forums and I like it like that.

actually if you post this on AT you'll get 5 people say to use the search, 3 people will post their opinion. 30 people will say those 3 people are wrong and say your choice of bow is crap and to shoot a XXXXX which doens't have that problem

True, but they will all be serious replies none the less...:biggrin1:
It turns out that SilentSniper has already started an identical thread just a few weeks ago. It was not hijacked and he got 3 replies before it went dormant. The only reason he took it back to the top was because my hijack reminded him of it......
Mabye instead of hijacking, we should just tell newbies to use the search feature. That is really helpful.....
poorman 08-19-2007, 03:59 PM Well I gotta tell ya nothing Pi**es me off more than to see someone reply with........Just use the search button. If your not going to take the time to anwser then dont reply. That arogance is why I started coming here.
