i wouldnt take a straight down shot. too risky. back of the head....would be my other guess. i got a deer target been practicing headshots. ive only missed hmmmmm maybe 5/300 shots

Ive taken that shot,and ive let that shot go!
I pull back and wait for a slight turn,Or ive even leaned out ta get the quartering away shot!
But ive let a few walk away that walked Stright away!:frusty:
Ive also dropped a buck in his trackes with a spine shot right between the front sholders stright down at 6yds from the tree i was in,I was 25 feet stright up!:biggrin1:

stop practicing head shots and just get good at proper shot placement.....

personally no one period should be shooting at a deer's head at any distance.....they move there head way too much and very herky jerky at that.....

I tired this in 86 on a 6 pt and i missed center to tha left and was way to forward never did find tha ol boy :Cry: :Cry:
I practice this shot each day and hold right where tha hams start
this will put tha arrow all tha way thru tha vitals.:amen:

i would post a picture of a perfect canoe shot but it would be to gory for many to see ...... 100 yards back of head between the ears.... nothing left through the nose and up...... they are nasty shots but dont waste meat

Head shots will work but are iffy. I would wait for a better shot. Remember we hunt to enjoy ourselves it isn't always about the killin.

That was my first thought also....Those spine shots make for nice tracking jobs :rockon:

bowman i know. I have just been messing around shooting the head lately..lol i can hit a dime at 25 yards in the vitals. and i know ppl who have taken back of the head shots...you just have to be very accurate
