Seems like there are alot of folks coming to this site to sell stuff lately. Not that I am complaining. I have never made a string but I always thought I would like to try. Oh well maybe someday.....

Unless these guys have a serving machine, I don't see how they can be making any money. Well, unless it's just a part time gig for fun.

To do a 2 cam set, it usually takes me 2 hours or better to do by hand. I know crackers and bucknasty have that new serving machine which makes it much faster.

I'm with you! It just takes me too long and it's too tedious to turn a profit! But if I had a serving machine...I could see it being very profitable...Slings and strings! :peace: ...NOT!

I know in Michigan we are hurting big time! The whole state revolves around the Auto industry which is going down the crapper right now. My Wife took a 20% pay cut a couple of years ago, and I took a 7% pay cut about 7 years ago, and I haven't seen a raise since. The whole dang state is getting laid off. :mad: I can honestly say if it wasn't for the sling money, we would be bankrupt. :sad:

uuuummm, he does have a real job. I think the real job already pays the bills, so the wraps, taxidermy, archery shop and strings are just extra, so 20/hour isn't bad.

Been makes strings 2000 have a custom spinner that puts up to 500lbs on them. end server will put up so 225lbs based on air pressure reg setting can roduce a cable in about 12 min flat. and a 2 cam string in about 16.5 min solo takes about 22 min. But what is great is spinning 15 inchs of serving in 45 seconds at 1345 rpm at 500lbs. It bets doing it by hand.

true but with speed you lose some quality. Cant beat hand made strings!! higher quality with less defects. more mass production more chance of issues. Hence the larg company I'm pulling teeth out with now!!
