I love my oldest girls Pentex, Great photos. Check on line at a web sight called Micro Center. They have some retail stores. I use them for all my computer needs. They have a retail store near me. I got my youngest girl a referb.coolpics for 65 dollars and the retail for 160.

Nope works great. Micro Center always stands behind every thing they sell also. I will stand up for this sight and store. Always has the best items, service and customer service. I know with all the online store and such it is hard to want to trust shopping on line. But if any of you need ot want a great on lone store for computer items. You can trust them. There prices are great to. I just got 2 new 17" wide screen LCD's for 99.00 each. Now I have so much screen space I may have to rent some of it out. lol

I heard that unless you have a commercial style printer anything over 7 mp is just wasted.

Wrong, the more megapixels to better sharper the photo. Ok try this zoom in on a photo taken with a 3 meg camera. see where it pixelats, the do the same with a 10 meg. You can blow up the 10 med much larger. That is the greater megs, the sharper the image. Hope this helps.

True. Anything over 3.2 megs can be blown up to 8X10 without being lossy (picture Quality). But the more megs you have the better off you are especially if you do cropping. I have 2 Canon Rebel XTI's 10.1 Megs and the newer Canon 40D also 10.1 Megs. All are DSLR's The Canon Rebel XTI is a great entry level DSLR. Both have the capability of using RAW Format. As with all interchangable lens cameras your lens is where your quality is. Keep in mind that on all entry cameras the LCD in back can only view the pix after the the shot. It is not used as a view finder. Except Olympus has one now that you can. (All my lenses are Canon and are not Interchangable with the Olympus.). If you have lenses for a SLR stay with the brand that you have as most will be interchangable with your DSLR. (This depends a lot on your mount style and the CCD of the DSLR. If your looking for a Canon, I have been dealing with BH Photo out of New York for years and Highly recommend them.
If your PM me I'll give you my # and will help you anyway possible. Photography is my main love and passion (hobby-wise) (I still use my old darkroom a lot) Film cameras vs digital cameras are much like Traditional vs Compound. Both have pro's and cons.

To add to my post above. If your looking for a "point and Shoot" cameras are much like archery. You have to find one that fits comfortably in your hand and the controls are easy to get to and understand. A smaller bodied camera will feel awkward in someones hands that are large.
ALSO TO ALL..... Look up Delkin LCD protectors on line. http://www.delkin.com/products/popupshades/index.html
They make an aftermarket products that protects the LCD screen on the rear of your camera HIGHLY RECOMMEND getting one. They are cheap and will save your LCD from scratches and being broken. I also have a few Point and Shoots that all have these protectors as well as my DSLR's. They come with a detachable shade that helps in viewing the LCD in high light areas.

I think he meant it won't print any clearer at 10 then it does at 7 which makes sense. we have a 5mp Camera and honestly I can't tell a difference between what we print out and what we get done professionally. for 99% of the people out there a 5 or 7 mp will work fine
