Haven't shot one or even held one but i had a thought...

The shortstop is adjustable is it not? Have you tried adjusting the position of it so see if that helps?

I seen a post on archery talk where a guy had a video on you tube. His new airborne made a loud noise. It was real loud. others mentioned that bowtech had issues of there limb bolts loosening up. something like that. but it was loud.

Make sure the limb pocket bolts are tight and install Limb Savers on the limbs. Looks like BowTech isn't supplying their Hush Kit on the Limbs anymore and I do think they helped. I think and have always, that the Limb Savers were better than the Hush kit silencers that BowTech supplied on their bows. IMO, the Limb Savers are stuck solid to the limbs and the Hush limb silencers were just "around" the limbs,, not as solid a mounting.

My question would be why you bought it in the first place. Prevention is the best medicine. Should have kept shooting others till you found a quiet one.

And this is not intended as a bow bash.

i have a new 101 and think it is fairly quiet. it is not as quiet as my guardian but not much more. make sure your string is about 1/8th to 1/4 of an inch away from the supressor at rest.

I shot one also, and it made a very loud PLUNK. The shop manager said that it was the "Bowtech" noise. I think it is there string suppressor. I would just install a regular STS or a Limbsaver STS like on the hoyts. I think if you do that, the problem will be solved. I was VERY surprised how loud of a "PLUNK" it made when shot. Nice feeling bow, but I couldn't get used to the noise.

another thing to look for is to check for vane rest clearance. i was using a QAD HD, but had trouble getting clearance. when it would hit it would sound like i dry fired the bow. once i put my old drop zone on, plroblem solved. and by the way i was using blazer vanes.

concerning the string supressor, if you do not like the one that comes standard, you can pull the head off, remove the post off of the arm, reverse it and an sts rubber head fits right on.
