It's a good release. Do you have any experience with BT? The reason I ask, is some people like to start with one with a safetly to begin with.

There are usually a couple reasons people hate back tension.

First is they do not take the time to learn it properly before they start shooting at targets.

Second, most people can't deal with the fact that their scores will drop before they go up.

It takes will and determination to do it. It is worth the effort.

I shoot a truball sweetspot 2 ultra 4, it has a safty on it, and works great as far as, not wanting to use a safety, thats up to you but the mechanics of it are the same, just with a little added security. but it was a bit higher than what you are looking at spending.

Tru Balls Tru tension is a really good release. I have shot one forthe last year and a half. I will say this. Once you get into back tension, you might check out Stan's newest one. The half moon is set on a micro adjust screw. This might not mean anything to a "newbie" to back tension, but trust me, fight the position of your half moon and then getting it to stay where you want it while tightening the set screw is not always fun....just food for thought
