    Default Home made Grip's....

    I need your opinion's on these grips i made today.Made them out of red oak and do they need to be darker....lighter color....thanks

    I don't think you need to darken them. They match the orange in the string the way they are now. Looks nice.

    They look good but for the looks of the camo I would darken them.

    IChim2 did you stain them already? I like a natural color in a wood grip but that's just me...

    I think they look great but I think they would look even better darker to go with the Camo.

    Thanks JC.I put i coat of lite walnut stain on them and was trying to decide if it needed another.My hands got cold this season because the orig/grips that came on it are really small.

    I put a light coat of light walnut stain on them more less as a sealer....but can be easly sanded off.....that oak really takes stain good.

    Looks great
    If u want darker try Early amarican stain and then clear-coat
    try that on a blank piece and see what u think.
    I use to build oak beams in houses and this stain rocks to but on white oak
    Never tried it on red.

    Well the animals won't see the color if it's in your hand..... That being said, I like them the way they are

    Them look pretty nice....neat to make em yourself.
    How did you do em, from a block of wood or from other grip blanks???
