I have some but I am having trouble with them on my Blade Runner. Very short ATA. I ralked to them and we found the trouble. I have to take time to fix the issue. But I see how they would work better.

I have also used them. They work just fine. Feathers are better LOOKING though. If you don't want to get into fletching your own, FOBs are the easy way out for sure. Definately shoot single spots, I destroyed a few with broadheads.

    Howdy All!

Seems the FOB is making it's way from hunting to target. I hope it's OK if I join in the FOB talk. I promise NEVER to try to sell anything. Just answer questions or help with any problems.

The FOB was designed from the ground up for hunting for sure. I shoot Zwickey heads and as bow speeds increased, I found it almost impossible to tune with vanes. The FOB is just an engineered airfoil that shoots a big head very well especially is adverse weather.

Shooting at the same spot will bust some FOBs for sure, but many folks are using them on 3-D. Expect to bust a few. My best advice for those who do not want to break them would be to use both vanes and FOBs on a 3-D shoot. For the close 10-30 yard shots when you know the groups will be tight, shoot a vane. But when you have that standing bear at 50+ yards in a crosswind, the FOB will offer a big advantage and the chances of a tight groups busting things up will not be so bad.

For indoor spots I think the FOB is ideal. It is more forgiving with a "yep" or bad release.

If anyone has any questions I would be glad to answer the best I can.

    Regards,

    Paul

    Welcome Paul!

would you say it is easier to get your field tips and broadheads to group together using FOB's? Or make them hit at the same point...cause shooting groups with BH's would really probably not be good for them. I have always had trouble tuning bigger BH's at higher speeds

when are you coming out with ones that have strobes on them? Different colored strobes would be even better...

Sort of going for the "seisure at the line" kind of strobe if you get my drift

For me, back in the days, I would dread tuning my Zwickey's for the Elk hunt. One day on then next day off. Always chasing my tail because of slight form issues (my fault). These issues did not show up at slower speeds but at the speeds we shoot now, any form issue is magnified. The day I new we were on to something was when I took the first pre-production FOB and got my heads tuned to field tips with about three adjustments. The next day and days to follow, still hit the same.

Being a semi ridged airfoil the FOB reacts very well to adjustments. When you make an adjustment you see the results and are repeatable. I find that with the larger heads, shooting a field point a few grains heavier than the broadhead works best. That is because a large broadhead will have more wind resistance and act like a heavier head. My Zwickey's are about 140 grains and I tune using 150 grain field tip.

If you do like to shoot groups (So do I), you can set up a cheep 2 or 3" wide foam target in front of your block target at least an arrows length away. Then when you have a pass through, the FOB will pop off (undamaged for re-use) and you can try and for shoot the same hole. Those ballistic peel and stick gun targets make for a good spot indicator. They turn from black to green when you make a hit.

I am thinking it would be best to continue with this thread?? The folks here have already been talking about the FOB. If I start a new thread "free FOBs" Things may get out of hand...I only want folks serious about giving them a fair try not just wanting free stuff.

    What do you guys think???
