Draw length and Mods?
as some of you all know I ebayed an 07 Bowtech allegaince LH it made it to the house By the way I am in Iraq and Now I am nervous about the draw length because I am having trouble understanding all the talk about MODs i\I am guessing I am guessing they are smaller Cams anyone explain better. And how much adjustment can you do without MODs. Thanks

MODS are small pieces that attach to your cams and the string/cable runs on them to change the draw length and the speed/ease of pull of the bow. You need to find out what draw length you need, and if you want a speed cam or smooth draw cam. Then find which MODs you need.
What I am confused about, is which ones I need to change my bow to a 29.5" DL Speed cam, I too have an 07 Ally. Anyone care to help us out? That look on my face is not concern, its shock at your utter stupidity!
Check out Redneckarcher.com. It's an adult archer/hunting site that feels like hunt camp.

They are just interchangable pieces that you put on your cams.. They are not expensive. I believe mine were around $15.00 for the set and my pro shop put them on for free. As for as which one's your pro shop will tell you when you get them, just tell them which DL you want. I'm not sure on the Allegiance but on General and the 101st they have 2 types. A speed mod and smooth mod. The speed mod is a little harsher on the draw but gives (as the name suggests) more speed. The smooth mod gives a smoother draw at the cost of a few FPS. They're no big deal to replace.

Thank you for the Info
I was more confused than I thought but it is all becoming clear. Do you need the mods to go down in length?

the mods can make your draw length longer or shorter.when i picked up my 07 tribute i ordered it with a 29 inch draw length.it was too long i had the pro shop shortin it a half in with different mods.

Keep in mind that whenever you change a mod on a bowtech you have to make a corresponding change to the draw stop on the cam that has it installed on there. It's a simple thing to do but necessary to facilitate the change in draw length due to the mod change. Their web site used to have a chart with the draw stop setting for each draw length for each bow model but I don't see it there any more. It may be buried in there someplace.
Here's a link to the 2007 owner's manual that explains the mod and draw stop adjustment I'm speaking of. You're not supposed to move the draw stop more than 1/2 of a setting from that recommended for the mod you are using. If you remove the draw stop and draw the bow you will over-rotate the cams, creating the possibility for you to achieve 100% letoff, which would be bad.
