    Default New & a beginner

    Hey all!

Let me introduce myself. My name is Joshua, I'm 21 (I'll be 22 next week) and I live in Texas. I actually decided to take up basic archery as a hobby to keep me busy. I actually built my own longbow. It rivals my brother's beginner's bow. It actually is about as accurate and fires just about as far.

I made it out of a single birch wood tree branch. It was stripped of bark and it is 1 to 1/2 inch in diameter going from bottom to top. It is strung up with 100% natural twine. It works pretty good and the cost of construction would be next to about 1.00$ for the twine since I got the branch off of our unwanted bush/tree thing in the front yard. And of course the pocket knife I already had / branch hand saw.

Can't wait to hear from people!

Gotta have a picture. Please. It would very cool to be 21 and too much time on your hands.
