Default What in the world is Crackerized?

I had bit of a lull at work today so I logged on to Archery Talk and seen a lot of talk about guys getting their bows crackerized. I know that this is some kind of custom work done to your bow, but what exactly is it and can it really improve the performance of your bow versus straight out of the box new from the factory? Another one of those things that make you go hmmmmmm!!!!

Good luck and good shooting to everyone this Saturday where ever you may be.

The guys name is Mike Crackers and supposedly he can do things to a bow you can only dream of....

Uses floating cables and some kinda magic dust I beleive....among other things....some kinda super tuning

Not sure if it is worth it, no one in my neighborhood has had it done and would like to see one before I send my baby's on a long trip....

Pretty close Bowman, but his name is actually Mike Carter, owner of Carters Archery in St. Joesph Missouri. Goes by Crackers on AT. Mike has a nack of finding the "sweet spot" on any bow he gets his hands on. All the man has to do is draw it back to figure out what he needs to do. He has made an art out of tuning a bow. He also makes some pretty darn good set of string and cables. Man has built himself a nation wide reputation. Good thing for me is he only lives about an hour away

Crackers has developed a great reputation as a bow tuner. I'm sure he is very busy.

I posted on AT that he should offer a dealer school. He didn't take the bait. I'm always looking to improve my knowledge. Others have said he should produce a DVD.

I'm sure he is extremely busy right now.

There is no secret to tuning a bow the "right way." Or to "super tuning " a bow. All you need is time and (the secret ingredient)...patience. I have been working with bows and such for over 11 years now, and gentlemen like Mike Carter are a blessing to our sport. Guys like him get archers to pay more attention to the equipment they shoot. Which is a good thing. The number one thing that I have observed this year so far in bow tuning, is that archers seem to think that strings and cables do not give anymore. That with all these new string and cable materials, string(stretch) give never occurs. WRONG..WRONG..WRONG !! Just for the heck of it, have your string and cables pulled and measure them against what they are supposed to be. Odds are very high that you are going to get a suprise.

No argument there, unfortunatlly patience is a virtue that most lack these days.
