Shoot all you possibly can and pick the one that feels best to you. Just about every bow company these days make a great bow. Or they are out of business pretty fast. Check out the new Bears,Mission nice prices with money left over for all your accessories. Take care and have fun.

I think we should clarify....bare bow or ready to shoot for that budget? I know around here that I can get just about any of the top 3 brands under $700 for a bare bow.

Just went through all of this. I ended up w a used 08/ bowtech commander, $450.00 bare bow. Should be able to have it all set up for around 7-800. All brand new top line stuff I found was closer to 800.00 bare bow.

In that case, do like BH said and shoot as many as you can get your hands on at the local shops and decide which one seems like the best bang for your buck to you.
I got my General for under $700 new. I also can get a DXT or Katera for about the same price and these 3 would be at the top of my list.

Too many opinions to really know which is really the best. I would suggest any Hoyt Katera models. I'm giong to shoot a Limbsaver Deadzone and many other models before I buy another bow. Have fun shopping, I know I will.
