    Default Huricane Ike

    All of the rain from huricane Ike flooded the land where i hunt. under one of my stands thiers 18 inches of water it aint that bad i can wade to the tree. it really shouldnt bother the deer that much, im hoping.

    I guarentte my best stand is in 3 feet of water now. 2 weeks ago it was dry. We have had almost 7 inchs of rain in 3 days total. It also goes down pretty fast so Im not concerned yet...I can wear waders but man you make a ton of noise slipping into a stand with water to slush through

    Do you guys really expect to see deer in flooded areas? I would expect them to vacate the spot for a while. Am I wrong here.

    Oh I don't mean deer accustomed to water. I've hunted swamps all my life and shot some with muddy bellies.
    I mean an area usually dry or whatever the baseline is and suddenly there is 2-3 feet of water on the ground . Surely these deer ran for higher ground. No?
