    Default Kinetic Energy????

Ok I have been doing some thinking and calculating using this site- http://bucklemke.com/ke/ke.php

Using my bow and arrow specs IBO-315 DL-29" DW-72# Weight on string-30gr

    Arrow 1 Radial X-Weave STL Hunter 390gr KE=70.85
    Arrow 2 Aluminum XX75 2219 625gr KE=59.48

Now I always thought that a heavier arrow carried more KE why then is the 625gr aluminum arrow carry 11.37 less pounds of energy than the 390gr carbon? Anyone have any info on this is the site calculator wrong or what? Thanks guys for all the help. When I get the chance I am going to get some plywood and do some experimenting.

Give me the actual speeds you are getting. Your calculations don't look right to me.
If the speeds in your signature are correct, then your calculator is not right.

    2219-625gr--225fps = 71ft/lbs of KE
    X-Weave 300-390gr--276fps = 66ft/lbs of KE

I'll take the 66 with the additional 50fps any day of the week.

Chris I found this and it seems to be close to your calculations. KE=FPS*FPS*ARROW WEIGHT/450,240 Thanks for the help.

No problem. I have a little spreadsheet that has the calculations in it.

You all need to post more. That way it doesn't look like I spend all my time talking to myself.

Default Who Said That Oh I Guess I Did!!!!!

Now Chris it is just fine to talk to yourself but, do not let us catch you answering yourself like I do quite alot. Then people start to wonder about you. Besides before long you will only have one friend and he will be some smart mouthed egomaniac that you cannot win an arguement with no matter how hard you try. Keep up the good work
