Ole Dave Barnsdale by winning Vegas one year showed it could be done. Would be cool to see Randy Ulmer on the 3d course again though. Todays pros are just as good or better and good guys. Sure hope Hopkins returns in good health to keep shooting from his fall. No telling how many years he has left if he does.

and as the PAYOUT is the SAME, it really keeps people intersted........

wonder if the payout even pays for a person to get to the shoot......

Most or atleast the top pros depend on sponsorship money. But lets face it most archers dont shoot for the cash. Although the continuecy money is still risng and other manufactuers have joined in and paying archers for there success.

I guess I will never know, for I am sure I dont havewhat it takes to compete with the worlds finest, but I dont mind......I just like shooting and going to a 3-d now and then........

archery has somewhat taken a back seat to my other HOBBY, as they for the most patrt both take place of Sundays........

I have alot more money invested in the other hobby........

    Its NOT about the money???

you are sadly mistaken on this one........

everything in life revolves around money DB, unless you have an endless supply of it, and then of course it still kinda does......

you have to make the money to eat and get to the shoots.....

you think if there was more and bigger money in it, it might be on TV a little more?? I DO.......

and how about sponsers from other walks of life??

you wanna see Archery GROW in AMERICA?? SHOW ME THE MONEY

wonder why Kids dont get into Archery as kids???

    MONEY.........

tell me something, WHO do you think a normal kid who is into hunting, fishing, and team sports knows more about? PEYTON MANNING/DALE EARNHARDT JR or JEFF HOPKINS/LEVI MORGAN???

    Misty May or Vic Wonderley(sp)

    Jeff Gordon or Dave Cousins??

Ever wonder why 500,000 people will sit and watch a CAR drive in circles for 500 laps and you lucky if you get a 100 people to watch a shoot down??

or how about a 4 hour football game vs the tie breaker at vegas???

    NO BIG MONEY......

    YOU WANT TO GROW ARCHERY???

GET BUDWIESER TO SPONSER TIM GILLINGHAM

OR STAY FRESH MAXI PADS to SPONSER some of the woman.......(J/k?)

If money where the only reason to compete, there would only be 8 pro archers...

I was a weightlifter for many years. No one wants to watch grown men or women grunt and sweat. Has to be entertaining. The PGA has made golf entertaining at least for many golfers.

10 years ago golf was the fastest growing sport. You see all kinds out on the local courses. I mean come on look at me and I love to golf. I just plain suck at it but keep going and going and going.

We do here at our Intermediate and Middle schools.
Thanks to NASP. and the kids who participate LOVE it.

Sad story this year though. Some scumbag broke into the Intenediate campus gym and among other thing stole every bow and a few 5 gal buckets full of arrow.

I like to think, there's a special place in hell for someone who would steal from kids.

Here's a pic of last years inter-campus tourney. Couple of good friends of mine pitched in to help.

Gene Curry, Rhonda Calhoun & Jimmy Mitchell (not pictured).
