Hoyt did well making the Katera. That bow will harvest deer for a longtime. I dont have any idea why all buy news bows each year.

People shoot deer with stickbows... So whats the big deal? A Person could kill a deer with a spear if they really wanted to

I have a 2001 model, its still killin....Here is the trick,I take the noise technology and apply it to my old Bow...I have the newer Hoyt style split limb savers and a STS string stop...My bow is very quiet,it was never really a loud bow,it did have some string doing though...I have 7 kills with it and counting...

Todays tech and what I am looking for is a smooth drawing 70# bow with forgiveness and decent speed...

Elites new XLR is what I am buying next...

They want you to think your bow is outdated in one year, but its just not the case...Alot of guys go 3 or more years before they find another bow that appeals to them, some guys kill with it their done with it,time for a new one...

missed the point . every time I see a old bow first thing I thought of was wow that thing must be loud & slow ! never get a deer with that antic . just amazed on how out of touch I am on what hunting really is about ! not the year of the bow but how good of a hunter you are.

I'd buy a new bow once or twice a year if I could afford it. I just retired my "04" Hoyt Ultra Mag. This time I bought a Hoyt Vectrix from the top of last year's list, at this years price. I should be happy until I get to shoot some "09" models.

I know what you mean. I have been chastized by some of those "netsperts" for using my old Bear broadheads. I have even been called a slob hunter just for using them. I just wonder how many deer have been killed with those heads.

I usually trade/sell my bow after the end of the season if I kill a deer with it. I just like shooting a new bow, kinda like getting a lease vehicle.

I agree! I shoot the same bow all year, not just for hunting. By the end of the year I want to play with something else.

Time to change your signature DB. I've got an old 50lb Indian hanging in the back room from probably the early 80's. One day I plan on getting a new string for it, and shooting it traditional style and maybe taking a deer with it.

ya know what they saw about a man with only one gun, or in this case bow, he probably knows how to shoot it.
