    Default Portable Bow Press Cable?

    Hi.

I was just wondering if any of you have used this portable bow press cable. Does it really work good, and more importantly, I need to know if this can be used on crossbow to compress the limbs for string changing.

Here is a link to the product.

    Thanks for any input.

I have one and it works very well, especially with a 18V hand drill. you might want to check with the manudfacturer to see if it's rated for the heavier crossbow limbs but otherwise I think it would work fine.

I have one as well and it works great for 'home bow tech' work. It's safe on limbs and it's small and portable. The only complaint I have is that the T handle could be a bit bigger for a bit more leverage and comfort but a socket on a 3/8 wratchet on the screw shaft head fixes that.

JC, I didn't think about using a cordless drill.... I'll have to try that...

    Default Bow press

I have had mine since around '99. I have used it on my High Country Ultra-Force(Split limb adapters needed), my Jennings Rackmaster, my Bowtech Tribute, and Hoyts, Mathews, Dartons. It is the best portable press that I have used. No, wait, it is the only kind I have used. Get one, you won't be sorry.

I use the split limb adapter even on Mathews....saves the limbs from splitting...

I keep the Bowmaster in my kit for trips and tournaments where I might not find a real press... it isn't intended for a constant use, but works well for emergencies.
