Default Share the harvest guys Had a blast this morning.

Roy here called me and ask if I would help him get a deer. Didnt know who told him to call but said sure because he said he was disabled vet. Come to find out I took his brother last year who works for my deer processor. His brother missed. LOL

Slow morning but finally here came a four pointer and big doe. I could tell Roy was nervous watching them coming. Well he missed a 50yrder. He was sure down in the dumps. I said it happens buddy lets sit here and see if another comes by. I could tell he was looking pretty unhappy and had little hopes he would get another shot. Well this little yearling doe came by and he made a good shot and was proud as if it was a monster buck. Im very proud of him to serve his country. He was in the Irag conflict and his tent was hit by a mortor and he has no hearing and has severe head trama. He a good guy and we will do this again. Honestly folks I get as much pleasure doing this as hunting by myself.

I bought this cheap ground blind and knew one day it would come in handy.

I hold all our men and women in uniform in very high regard. I hold you in the same standard. If every one helped one person to get out and enjoy the world around them the world would be a better place. One of my uncles has been in a wheelchair since Nam, every year my wife and i spend the time to put together
2-3 fishing trips to take him on and somehow those trips end up being the best trips of the year.

    Default One other thing

Roy cant shoot a bow. But we going to see what we can do about getting him a crossbow. Anyone know any contacts that might help a disabled vet out?

Is that some see this and learn from it. I really enjoyed helping this guy get a doe. Trophy hunting fine but this can be just as rewarding.

DB, good job that's what it's all about!

You might check with BowTech on the crossbow. I know they have a program for the military on bows, and they own Stryker crossbows.

I am proud of him! If he's proud of his bounty than I'm proud too!

I wonder if you could contact one of the manufacturers and see if they could just loan you a demo Xbow for a coulpe of weeks for this cause?

Ya know people that hunt are just pretty nice folks all over. Sure there's a bad apple every once in a while but in general? Good people.

Great job guys, Im sure he was tickled to death to have the opportunity to go hunting. DB you my have made a friend for life and a great huntin buddy, Everyone should try to give a little back to the soldiers in one way or another, Even if its justwalking up to them when you see them and say thank you for our freedoms.

Made a friend. Roy was a pleasure to help. He really appreciated and I had a great time. Trophy deer is in the eye of the beholder. I especially like taking first time hunters and youth.
