I bought a Gerber Combat Folder in the Army for Bragging rights, ended up being a really useful tool when I deployed to Bosnia. Great Price and a great knife. Keeps an edge nicely and after you have used it some and practiced with it, it can be opened with a flip of the wrist.

Oh, and for everyday carry it is an original Remington lockback.

Hunting I carry Either a Smith and Wesson or custom made fixed blade and either a Buck 110 or Schrade 77OT Improved Muskrat.

Every knife I carry is made in the USA, I just have not been able to find a knife I like that isn't.

I also have the Gerber Applegate / Fairbairn, and would recommend it easily for daily duty it does about everything you could think of (love to get one with a smaller blade for the pocket) but it aint a pocket knife.

Out of the zillion folders I have the one I drop in the pocket is the little freebee minibuck It just evolved into the goto knife as its small holds a wicked edge forever and has thus far proven indestructible.

For cool factor as mentioned the Victorinox knives are excellent and they make some locking blade versions as well now.
