Default Can someone attempt to score this rack?

Shot this deer yesterday morning and took it to the taxidermist and forgot to take all the measurements. The inside spread is 21.5 and the longest tine is approx. 8.5 in. Thanks for any and all help!

Thanks! That is a very close number that one of my good friends said but I was hesitant. It will be interesting to see what others think.

    Is that a 17 point?

I bet he is pushing 170 gross pretty dayum hard...All those kickers will score, not sure but he looks to have a deduction on his left main...If his kickers on his brows are close in measurement he will not drop in deduction but the one odd point which looks to be rather small...

I am no pro but I have read a book on scoring and how to field judge LOL...

I am a meat man so,it is cool to guess at them though...Let us know..

Default I'd consider it an 11 pointer with 12 kickers. 6 on each side that are ~ symmetrical.

As you can tell by the picture although the kickers are surprisingly symmetrical, they do vary in length a little bit. I also thought they had to be on the main beam to be counted. Also, is the deduction that you are referring to the extra point? But this is why I posted it here. I am not a pro and its fun to guess.

Ok I spent a little time looking at it and here are the numbers

    Total points 70 "

    Main beams 48"

Mass 35" real conservative, not sure how to measure the bases.

    spred 21"

Gross 174" thats going to be real close.

Ok,,,well, assuming that it is leaning toward 170 (me and my wishful thinking), how many deductions would I be looking at? I guess what I am looking at is what it would net. I am just too impatient to wait for it to be scored I guess lol.

I would score him at 34 and 7/8. Meaning, he would make me fill my size 34 shorts 7/8 of the way full if he walked in front of me! Great buck, sorry I have no useful info for ya, I think you are getting solid info from the others though. Congrats!

Any extra point on the main beam that the other side does not have is a deduction...6r side and 7 ls with the odd point being added for gross and subtracted for net...Unequal mass on any measurement is a deduction but counts for gross...

They add right side and left side and also spread and base measurements ...
say if your G2 is 8 and 3/8 on your left side and 9 on your right, they add both for gross but would deduct 5/8 difference on that measurement from your gross and it is subtracted along with any other differences to get your net...As far as all those kickers go,I thought they added All bone...I am not sure about it having to be on a main beam, they might count your Buck as a Non Typical so i am pretty sure you get those points counted for gross...I still say you have a 170 class animal...He has alot of bone, nice job...

    Default Nice

I would say he may gross in the 170 range. I bet he was a tree shredding son of a gun. Those kickers are awesom. Would love to take a buck like that.

He did have some cedar tree shavings on those kickers when I recovered him but surprisingly he still had some old velvet remaining!
