    Default My Buddes Buck, AWESOME!!!!

A friend of mine shot this deer this morning, walked out his back door and got a 40 yard shot on him. No kidding. Too bad both main beams have been broken. I can't imagine what he would have been, or what he was. The mass on him is unreal. I don't want to tell you this, but another Northern Illinois monster.

What do you think he scores??

It is sand on his antlers from dragging him out.

man Ive seen some great deer around my house and even had does and fawns 20 yrd from the house but thats a monster. We had a local legend that haunted a ladies back yard 2 miles from my place. Live in a rose briar thicket less than a 100 yrds from her back door.

looks like dirt to me either from dragging out,but how much dragging was involved it was shot 40 yards from the house i woulda backed the truck up and loaded him in the bed,or the buck liked to dig in the dirt with his antlers.and man is he thick.he woulda really been a gem if he would have not been fighting so much.but look at it on the bright side there is something at least his size or bigger in the area to scrap with him and do that kinda damage to that beautiful headgear.

He was rough scored at 160!!! That is with both main beams broken off. Probably would have scored at least 170 and maybe 180 if he had everything still there. The right main beam appears to be recently broken off. The left main beam appears that it was broken off when in velvet. It is spongy at the end.

When he was shot he was 40 yards deep in the timber from the backyard. And he did roll down the hill towards the house. So, no there was not much of drag to the truck.
