broadhead for hogs??
i am leaving on tuesday going to florida to hunt with some friends for pigs.we will be hunting with archery gear morning and evening.during the day we will use dogs and knifes.i was wondering if my standard rage 3 blade is ok or if i needed a coc or 1 piece design broadhead.my friend said they have lost some animals due to expandables .i said it was poor shot placement.the average pig may be around 75-125.

I shot one with a vortex 100 grain around 80 lbs. he ran 25 yards and dropped. The rage heads are fine go stick one. Its all about shot placement.

For piggy I want a solid fixed blade like the Montec or Magnus Stinger... the shield is tough...Mike "Javi" Cooper

I hunt deer and smaller hogs with expandables but if I hunt for boars I go with a fixed two blade. The shield they have absorbs a lot of energy from the arrow and you might not get a pass through with the mech. blades.
