carry a pistol and a good bowie knife and look for a tree to climb just in case.

    Smile hog hunting

Just be sure you have a WELL tuned bow with FIXED blade broadheads.
They don't build any pigs that are satisfactory for expandables.
I know because I have killed 7 good sized hogs (200+#) with 9 arrows and fixed blade broadheads. I have also seen several hogs shot with expandables and it took several shots to put them down.

they cant see for crap. I almost hit about 8 this evening right at dusk. they were standing right on the edge of the road and I slowed down to a crawl and got within 10 feet of them with my truck before they noticed me and ran back in the woods.

Take the oldest smartest buck you ever hunted, then give him a very bad temper and 6" tusks as sharp as razors... then throw in a dozen or so just like him in varying sizes that never stand in the same spot for more than 10 seconds and you got Hogs....

Pitch in the fact that they can and will run over you and can weigh 300 pounds .... you got HOGs...

The shoulder shield on a big boar is 3" to 4" thick and a good knife won't go through it... you wait for a quartering away shot... aim low and for the opposite shoulder... not behind the opposite shoulder... Remember aim AT the opposite shoulder and hold 4" above the belly line...

    Have fun

It wasn't that they couldn't see you... they were just hoping you wanted to start something... when they figured you weren't gonna play they left...

I think I would like hogs. None here. We need another GAME ANIMAL! Heck we only got moms and seniors jogging around the roads here in the mid-mornings. They don't list them in the hunting astracts.

That 4" is if you are on the ground... I hunt from the ground and sometimes forget most of y'all are BUZZARD hunters...

from a Tripod or treestand, aim so the arrow will exit 4" above the belly line... sorry

Not to be argumentative, but don't try that on the shield of a 300 pounder...
