2008 gone! How was your 2008 deer season
Mine sucked. I harvested a good eight pointer but over all the season wasnt one of my best.
I attribute mine to hunting pressure and lack of food source.Elite bows, Vortex Binos, Trophy Taker sights, Carter releases, Goldtip Arrows. CBE sights, Vapor Trail Strings, B Stinger stabilizers

Mine wasn't so good. I let the biggest deer of the year walk by first hour I was in the woods. My boy's told me I would be sorry but I knew there was bigger there. I was waiting on an 11 point I had trail cam pictures of. So ended with only a doe.

I had a good year hunting here in Wisconsin, I put in a lot of time and seen a lot of deer, I came close to shooting the buck that I had on camera that I was after all fall, but he still lives another year everything here is free roaming swamp and some farm land with a lot of Oak & Pine trees so it takes a lot of patience.
5 deer with bow – all 5 does
5 deer with the gun – 1 Buck 4 does
2 went to families that needed food
2 were for my son in college who he and his roommates think it the best stuff ever
Here’s a picture of the buck

And the Buck that lives

No complaints really. I always wish for more time in, but I got more than last year, and got some venison in the freezer. Could have been worse. Hey, only 9 months to go.FBSA Member

Good season for me
3 does with my bow, one late season
1 10 pointer with my smokepole(biggest buck to date)
I did however miss the two biggest bucks I have ever had a chance at, one around 170" (have trail cam pics), and the other was about 150" non-typical on public ground. Lesson I learned this year.... aim a little low!!Hoyt Trykon-390 gr.@280fps.

Took some youth afield, had a great time! Most importantly got them off the X-Box/Play-Station for a day.
Had a community lunchoen at the church.
Delivered 20 meals to local elderly/disabled/shut-in people.
Donated everything else (except for the straps an 1 the one Quarter pictured below) to the local Emergency Shelter for battered women & children
Forgot the digital camera at the house but took some pictures after we left the check-in station and got all cleaned up:
Gone camping in the mountains of Afghanistan.
Will return sometime in early/mid 2012.

Had a great season hunting with friends and family. Spent a lot of time in the woods with the bow and was able to harvest my first ever deer with a compound bow. Also took a doe from the same stand location two weeks later with the rifle.

2008 was not bad, never saw a good shooter buck but ended up taking 2 old does...I still have until 2/01/09 before Ohio's deer season is over, if the freakin snow would stop for awhile I may still try to get 1 more!!!

Another fantasic year for me. Spent time with family and friends pursuing whitetails. Filled my freezer shooting a bunch. Enjoyed all the sights, sounds, and smells the good lord gives me when I hunt. Didn't wound anything (at least not too badly).
Hey Daniel Boone
I feel sorry for ya. Most people I know (including myself) wound consider shooting a good 8 point and seeing the deer you see (from your pics) a GREAT year. You seem to have lost touch with the big wonderful picture.ORIGINAL SWITCHBACK
