Thread: 2 sites 1 bow?

  1. #1

    Question 2 sites 1 bow?

I was thinking of using a Pin site for hunting and setting my HHA for 3D Is this a bad Idea.
If I set my pins for my hunting arrows and site it in dead nuts, Then set my HHA for my 3D arrows. Wouldnt all I have to do is switch the sites for hunting then back again for 3D. If I dont move the rest and tune the site to the rest this should work right?

yes it would work as long as both arrows tuned with the rest in the same position, but isnt that backwards? wouldnt you use the pins for 3D and the HHA for hunting?

In theory it should work??? I however do just the opposite.I shoot fixed pins for 3-d and hunt with a HHA slider. This keeps me in hunter class at 3d shoots with the fixed pins..
I never miss, my arrows always hit something

I shoot MBR class But I only shoot 3D for fun. I know it seams Backward. But Since most of my shoots will be 30 and under I thought I should set up my pins at Point blank(10yrds) 20 yrds and 30 yrds. This way if a Gobbler comes in close I wont have to move my site just set my pin to PB and release.

If your using the same Diameter arrows yes it will work BUT if your using to diffrent diameter arrows then you would have to adjust your rest for the diffrent shafts

Why- I use a TT shakey hunter- I use small arrows for hunting and X-cutters for 3D and target,And all I change now are the marks for yardage on my HHA.

I shoot a 23 alphamax at 68lbs with a hha single pin sight. I shoot 3d 10 months a year and hunt with it for maybe 14 days. I found that instead of switching sights, I set the hha pin at 30yrds. That way 20 to 40 yards I am still in the kill zone. Found that works well for PA hunting. This eliminates the need to worry if something moved when switching sights and resighting in. It seems that every archery likes something alittle different but this is what works for my friend and I.
