Default Where to shoot a turkey

where do you guys aim when shooting a turkey broadside? I have read base of the wing and I have also heard base of the leg. What's better? Trying to get mentally prepared for turkey season.

Default Few more pictures for you

All good choices. Use a large broadhead with good cutting.

I use a five blade head.

Great diagrams, very helpful. Thank you DB

I was surprised and glad to see the head and neck wasn't included. I've
heard about the guillotine broadheads - cutting the heads off. I guess
there legal, I see them advertised.

Great diagrams DB. Never seen a cutaway with skeletals. I have always said base of the neck, and I hunt with some guys that are headhunters. Big help!thanks!

To me its a high risk shot. Break those bones in the body and birds isnt going to go far. My two birds with a bow dropped right there. Five blade head makes one hck of a hole. Im using a razorback five. They dont make them anymore but they do the damage.

did you ever use the guillotines or other type made for cutting off the heads . these just seem like a tough shot to me . i gonna stick with what works, and you're right , hit them bones and they are done!

Take out the wings and they can't fly. Take out the legs and they can't run, and they need to run a little to fly.
