My youngest daughter Lizard dove into the pile of bow blanks and found one that she deemed acceptable, Hey being the Coach's kid has some advantages, right?

Then pestered me (incessantly) to make a string.. "Just to see if she could pull it yet" All we had was 8125 and Halo serving but it'll do for "only pulling" purposes.

    Default making your own bow

i think that is a great idea. their is also a cheaper way for the kids to make a bow. the firts thing you do is go out and buy some half inch pvc pipe. then gets some nylon rope(thin enough so that you can nock an arrow.). that you canget at your local hard ware store. then you drill two small holes at each end of the pipe. then tie the nylon rope to one end(through the hole),and the pull the line through the other hole until you get the desired brace height. make sure that the pipe is not any shorter than three feet or other wise it will be to weak and will not last long. after you got the desired brace height you then tie off that side. then you get some electrical tape(which you can ghet at an hard warestore), and wrap each end of the bow about evenly. depending on how long the bow is this can give anywhere from 15-35 pounds of draw weight. if you chose you can also by some camo tape and wrap the bow with it. the only thing i thought could have been better is thinking of a way to put some srt of rest on the bow, otherwise you shoot aff your hand. All you have to do now is get some arrows and shoot. make sure that you follow basic archery rules when shooting this bow becuase it is still capeable of hurting some one.

well self made bows is an inexpensive option but do you feel it is durable and that much advanced when today there is a wide range of bows available in the market...

These are great. #2 you cropped the top of her head a teensy tiny bit, but other than that they look perfect. What time of day did you shoot these? The lighting was perfect.
