    Default New to Archery Bow

I'm getting a new Bow set up from my father-in-law to start shooting 3D. He is getting me the Bear Strike ready to hunt package. He says to find a local pro shop and get some help with setting up the bow, help picking out and setting up some arrows, and then find a release I like.

Will this be a good learning bow for the first 2 to 3 years? The last time I played with a bow was 20 years ago. I have been a rifle and pistol shooter for most of my life. But, moved to Greensboro, NC, no good public rifle ranges close by, so i made the choice to go archery.

The Bear Strike is a fine bow, and from my experience it really isn't the bow that makes the shooter in 3D...it's the shooter that makes the bow! Practice makes perfect, practice, practice, and more practice. Pick some good items to attach to your bow and pick good arrows. That is the "fine" tuning you need.....
