    Default ASA Tournament Questions

Hey experienced ASA shooters, got a few questions(Paris will be my first ASA tournament):

    1. For this tournament I will be shooting Bow Novice, will they be allowing this class to shoot both rounds on Saturday, as I have heard they have done in recent years?

    2. Should I register for the 3d Practice Range and the Limbsaver Known Distance?

Currently the plan is to drive down after work Friday evening, however, I am hoping my wife's boss will allow her to take that Friday off so we can drive down early Friday morning, which would allow me to practice Friday afternoon.

Normally they will not let you shoot all in one day but if there is a large class of shooters sometimes they have no choice, I cant remember if novice shot all on Saturday or not. The team shoot and practice can be very beneficial, will get you used to the terrain, however since you are shooting novice, practice range might not help you that much I think both your ranges are known distance? The limbsaver shoot is always fun but can be real humbling at times. You will have a great time no matter what you decide

You can sign up for the extra's when you get there.

When you go to the registration booth, just ask them about shooting both on Saturday. If that is what you want to do, they will let you know if you can or not.

I am mainly asking about shooting both rounds on Saturday, as to determine whether or not I need to book a room for Friday and Saturday night, or just Friday. Sounds like my best bet would be to Book both nights and plan on shooting my rounds on Sat and Sun.

One thing I can say is shoot all you can afford. Thats why you are there. Its a blast. Definatly shoot the team shoot. Its alot of fun and gets you chance to shoot with some great shooters and meet some great people.

I have shot the team shoot at every a.s.a's and got put with some awesome shooters and people. They are a lot of fun and get to meet awesome people. I got to shoot with Dan McCarthy and got a lot of pointers from him and had a lot of fun. I would highly recommend the team shoots.

from previous years, I have noticed that a lot of Bow Novice, Open C shooters do shoot both rounds on Saturday due to being large #'s and they just can't fit them all in on the ranges during the two day shoot...

Also, if you do shoot both rounds in one day, your time may be limited to what extras you can participate in...

It seems alot of ya'll are suggesting the Team Shoot. Unfortuanately for the Paris Shoot, the earliest I would be able to get there would be noonish on Friday(unless I go w/o my wife, she's a CPA Assistant and it will still be Tax Season). Is the Team Shoot normally an afternoon event, or a morning event.

I am also planning on Metropolis, which I should be able to be there Thursday - Sunday

    Thanks!!

Another question: Is the actual shoot just northeast of the Love Civic Center??? Looking on google earth, it shows an area that could possibly be big enough for a shoot.
