Default Gamoboy gets a nice one.

This is Mike first buck with a bow. He been patient and passing on several smaller eight pointers. He shot it with the Elite GT500 getting through the shoulder and hitting both lungs and deer traveled 50yrds. Slick Trick Broadheads

    Congratulations Mike (Gamoboy)

    Default congrats

That's a nice one. I bet I heard him drive in this morning if he went to the bluff. I hunted this morning. It was a quiet walk in. You could hear everything.

That was him and his wife. She missed a doe this morning with her bow. Beautifull day to be in the woods.

well here is the story. the wife and i decided to split up, so she could have an easy spot to harvest a doe. she is at the very top of a draw and i am more toward the bottom. i get in the stand right about 3pm this afternoon. neither one of us seen much movement. 5pm rolls around and the sun is starting to drop. i see a doe 100 or so yards away going down the bluff down into the bottoms. about 10 minutes later i hear something running back up the draw so i get my bow up and my release ready. i see a few does coming in. so i figured i would just harvest a doe. then i see more movement coming my way. it was this guy and 2 smaller bucks. the 8 pointer was chasing the smaller bucks away from the does. i finally see his rack and decide to take him if he came close enough. he stopped and hit a scrape about 40 yards out. then wandered closer to me. at 23 yards he stops and im already drawn back. i waited for what seemed 2 minutes waiting for him to turn broadside.(he was quartering to me) my arm was about to give out on me and i didnt want to let down and him spot me. so i settled the pin on his front shoulder and released. i watched my arrow hit its mark and sink all the way to the fletch. he took off like a rocket. i watched as he ran up hill then stopped and started stumbling backwards. after the shot i made a few phone calls, then my nerves started in and i was shaking pretty bad. i called DB first to let him know i just made a shot on a buck and he rushed out to help me track before it got dark.
i went to where i hit the buck and there was no blood. i went and looked down the draw and didnt see him, so i walked to where he stumbled and there he was layed up against a tree. i found him before DB got there. he was relieved that he was down and i think he was as excited as i was. hes not the bigest deer out there, but i am happy with him. he will be the first on the wall.

i appreciate you coming to help Dan. this was a day i will never forget.
