    Default New Shooter, Hi Everyone

    Hi Everyone,
First post for a beginner shooter. Picking up a used Hoyt Razortec for my first bow. Owner had new limbs and string put on it just a year ago, so even though its from 03' I think its a good bow. Now I get to have all the fun of buying accessories, all the bow has is a rest.

Excited to start archery. been thinking about it for a while, and decided to jump in. I'm sure I'll have plenty of questions!

Actually, I already do have a question. I was looking at the Spot Hogg Right On 5 pin wrapped sight. I figure that getting a good sight right off the bat is a good idea, and if I plan on shooting out to 50+ yards at 3-d shoots, why not get a sight that will do that for me? Good idea?

Just make sure the bow fits your draw length properly.
Second, spot hogg makes great products. Can't go wrong there.

Its a bit long right now, by maybe an inch, but the owner assures me it can be adjusted down some. The bow belongs to my fiance's brother, and we agreed that if it can't be adjusted down then I won't buy it from him. Hoping to get it out to the local reputable archery shop on Saturday. Fiance's brother has to work that day, but if the shop if as good as they say I'm sure they'll work with a beginner.

Thanks for the responses! Hope winter is treating all the forum members ok. I had to shovel snow for the first time all winter the other day, here in Pittsburgh.

For 3D shooting, I think the one pin Sight or at most 3 pin sight should work, over than 3 pin might bring you confused and mess up for aiming.
