Every 7 out of 10 house owners possess gun(s) for self defense, according to a report. I want to know if it is so important to get firearms safety training if you want to buy a gun for yourself. What is your view on this topic?

I think one should be familiar with any tool they use. I am against any .gov intervention in making that happen.

yes and no. after reading G J thread it got me to thinking. the way gun sales is up it got me to wondering how many have bought a gun that have never had a gun or even seen a gun. they should have some safety training. not because the gov. made them but to be a safe gun owner.

I cannot agree more to you. People must get firearms safety training course from an NRA certified training school.

I think people should get firearms safety training irrespective of the country they live or the type of firearms they own. I have heard the news about those poor family who lost their member just because of mishandling the gun.
