Default Bow and Arrows...all new to me. Need advice.

Hello. I am a teacher of a boys group at our church. The group is called Royal Rangers, and it's a lot like Boy Scouts. We are trying to plan activities for the year. I really want the boys (first and second grade) to learn archery skills. I have no idea where to turn or who to ask in the Lufkin/Nacodoches, Texas area. We're in east Texas, too far away from Dallas or Houston to get help there. There is a Bowhunters club in Nacogdoches. Should I start there? Thanks for any help.

I can see alot of trouble here, and a whole lot of fun as wellthe other option is to make some bows out of timber 2"x 1\2" and tough string use some timber dowel for arrows and styrafoam boxes for targets!!!kids love making em and once the novelity has worn off it hasn,t cost to much????What you could do is put a $20.00 bounty on the Deacons for target practise when you catch them Deacon around the corners to see whats going on!!!!Also the other option is get some Suanders wrist rockets also heaps of fun, hope your church doesn't have stain glass windows though

I vote for the closest club.

A lot of clubs have youth league's and archery equipment that the club owns. They might be able to fix you right up for a day of fun.

    Default Thanks for the help

Thanks for the help, every one. I especially like using the deacons for target practice. I have emailed the club closest to us, but haven't heard from them. I'll try calling.
