Drought is over
It's been two years since I had the pleasure of dragging one out of the wood. Just been some tough hunting. This isn't the biggest deer I have ever taken, but it is the biggest 6-point I've taken. I moved my stand to a new location yesterday afternoon and was there when the sun came up this morning. when I forst saw him, he was about 70-yards out and moving further away. I blew my grunt call a couple of times, but he didn't pay it any attention. So I used my can call and sent a couple of doe bleats his way. he turned and looked, but kept moving away. I blew a couple more times on the grunt call and then he was gone. But about a minute later, I saw him again and he was heading my way. He came by at about 20-yards, broadside. I stopped him with a mouth bleat and sent my arrow through both lungs. He went about 40-yards and went down. I was using a PSE Bowmadness XS set at 62-pounds, gold tip arrows and sonic fixed broadheads. It was a good moring to be in the woods.
