    Default Getting started in 3D

I have never shot 3D and would really like to meet some people to shoot with and get involved. I am in Eastern Kentucky near Ashland & very close to Huntington, WV too. Does anyone have any suggestions on how to get started or where I could start in this area. Thanks guys.

Not from your area but check for shoots on this website. Do you have some equipment and shoot already? If so just take it and go. You can decide what else you want after you've done a course or 2.

Best thing I can tell you is to do some research such as a local archery store or pro shop about archery clubs in your area. Join a club and meet other people. Get involved and voice your interest in 3D. More than likely there are people there who do go to shots. Make some new friends you could travel with to 3D shoots. You'll most likely end up with more fun than you bargained for. It's more fun than going by yourself.

    Both good replies

I have been to shoots where I didn't go with anyone and have ended up just getting in with a group and having a great time meeting new people. It is better to go with someone, but don't be afraid to try it alone if you can't find anyone at first.

And make sure you go with Not Overly serious shooters, they can be funsuckers!

Im from the bluegrass state as well, best advise i could give you is to go to the local archery shops and ask around where the local 3d shoots is. or you could go to ckaa's web site. i live in the south central part of the state and go to one about every weekend before i started my new driving job. good luck

take your bow, quiver, binos and field points and go. the worse thing that can happen is you loose a couple arrows
