    Default Crossbows

Who here hunts with a crossbow?

I was thinking about trying one..........but I might borrow one first to see if I like it or not.

Like it or not I think X-bows are here to stay.

I don't think I would ever use it in a tree but on those nasty cold day late in the season it would sure be nice to step into the heated hunting blind with a crossbow instead of climbing into a tree with a regular bow.

None of my hunting shacks are have big enough windows to shoot a bow out of.

I've shot them; they're heavy and slow to reload. I have no desire to own one until the day comes I can no longer shoot a vertical bow.

I helped my Dad site his in and they aren't the most comfortable thing to shoot. Lots of vibrations and top heavy but I think they would be handy in a ground blind.

I really don't see where they give you a advantage over a regular bow, in distance, speed or accuracy, but they would be nice in a ground blind.

I'd love to have it as an option for SG or ML season but they just are'nt allowed here for anything unless you get a handicap permit from the state. I don't think they belong in "bow" season unless you are handicapped. IMO they are a short range gun.

Last year I bought a Z7 Extreme and ended up having shoulder surgery less than a month later. I was on disability for five of the longest months (starting two weeks into archery season) of my life. I nearly caved and traded it in for a crossbow, but now that I'm shooting again I am glad I didn't.
