    Default Advice for a beginner

I want to get into archery. Ever since we were taught about it in PE at middle school, I thought it was pretty awesome. Though, at that time, I neither had the money nor was I the "proper sex" (my mom didn't want me to partake in "activities for boys").

Now that I'm out on my own, I still can't afford a bow or anything but I still want to get into it. I'd like to know if there are any types of bows that are good for beginners? I don't have a preference for either type.

find a local archery shop and see if they have any used gear that you could buy. There is a Lot of great advice on forums, but getting personal help to get started is better.

Good Luck! It is a ton of fun
