So are you trying to say you and your bow don't make sweet music together?

Talking A little known fact !

It's true that some of my bows are really very old , as I brought my prized Jennings Buckmaster back in '98 and it still does the trick , and those strings on it must be at least 13 years old and very well waxed !

My collection of bows is so old that the History Channel wants to do some research on them !

I don't need a new bow as an excuse on why I can't hit anything , I can do that without making a purchase !

Now you know and you are !

I can't say much about having older bows. I have a 1994 Martin Saber!

Last time I changed the bow was about 5-6 years old. I won't change again until there is a significant enough difference to tempt me - hasn't happened so far.

Well last night was another Tuesday night league night and I did well but in the process I broke a few strands on my buss cable. So now I have to have it replaced... The thing about it that I have had to replace both cables now and I purchased my bow August 2011. Just thought that they should last longer than that. I keep it waxed and in a temp/weather controlled environment. Anyone think that it is odd that I had to replace both strings after 1.5 year? I only shoot about 60-150 arrows a month (until league started). Who ever says that this is cheap after the initial investment can go fly a kite

Take it out of the closet and shoot it and then you might replace the strings

Does your relatives at Bear archery know that ! ( just kidding )

Folks like you are what make folks like " Hutch " busy !

I know that many of my aging group of bows , still have the original strings on them as I use no bullet proof arm guard ( don't even wear one anymore ) and have much better form than I use too !

I do have several old compound bows ( mostly Hoyts ) , that are worth not more than the price of a set of strings , but since " yours truly " does such a good wax job , I can get by !

Now you know and yes you are !

At 76 yrs of age I have had few bows. Mathews, Hoyts, Browings, High Countrys. The only bow I have become truly ATTACHED to is the only bow remaining in my possession-- a Mathews MQ1. It will be last bow I own as I can not imagine any bow enabling me to shoot more accurately, fit me better and be more fun to shoot.

Untill one of the limbs developed a splinter, two years ago, I was still shooting my Jennings Unistar (an '84 I think). Still have it but it is now a wall hanger.

That was a great bow back than , but they have done a better job on the limbs , as my Jennings Buckmaster ( first model ) , later known as the Bear 2000 is still shooting just fine !

It hangs out in the tree stand with me alot !
