Are the new bows that good ?
I get " Bowhunting " magazine and there was article about how bows are much better today , since the last ten years , the author used Hoyts as an example .
I really don't know so I'm asking , as my newest hunting bow is a 2007 Reflex Caribou , but am wonderring about those faster speed hunting and 3D bows .
I want to know , " are they that much better than bows than those that are ten years old " ?
Let me know if you have purchase a fast smooth good shooting hunting or 3D bow in the last few years .

The only difrence i can tell between my old antique bows and my new elite is the let off mainly ,the draw is a little smoother and gained speed.with the 80 percent let off it just about holds its self at full draw.Thats what sold me on a new bow.The deer i shoot dont seem to know the difrence between the new bow and my old one.

The Answer is Yes!!!!!
20 yrs ago i had a PSE(peices shoot everyware) andit was a heap compaired to my 2013 Alpha elite???? Would i swap a 310fps hunting bow for a 265 fps -5 year old bow????Not Bloody likely!!!!! Are the new hoyts of 2013 better than the 2012's simple answer NO!!!!!! are they beter than those of 10 yrs ago??? Hell Yer everythings better sights ,strings, peeps just everything except the price of course!!!I have resided to buying 2nd hand bows from the as they are 1\2 the price of retail and work perfect!!!I've learned that pleasing everyone is impossible, but pissing everyone off is a piece of cake.

I think you have to wait at least 3-5 years to really see anything different between a companies flagship bows. Using Hoyt as an example, it's really hard to tell any real difference between their aluminum riser bows since the Alphamax. Same can pretty much be said for the Z7 through Heli-m (haven't tried the Creed to see yet).
IMO, many bow companies had past designs that they are still trying to match with current bows (Hoyt Alphamax, Mathews Z7 (which finally matched the Switchback XT), Bowtech Destroyer, Elite Z28 or GT500, etc). Some have tried to do little tweaks to keep the popularity alive (some of which went the wrong way) and some have eventually had to try a fresh design to try and match the popularity of the older models.
Now if you talk target bows, that's a whole other story. There is even less change in that market. It seems like there is a set design people want for target bows and if a company tries to change it much it's hard to get acceptance. Examples of this are the fact that the 2013 Mathews Conquest 4 is nearly identical to the original 1996 Mathews Conquest but the Triumph which was actually a different design and was not accepted. Another example of the lack of change is Hoyt and their Spiral cam which has been around since at least 2000.
