As a hunter last year was hell for me due to medical issue's. I did get out for a total of just 8 hours. Now that I am on the mend I am shooting the bow just about every day, at 71 you never know when it will be your last hunt. So I want my form to be in the top shape even those my body is not. I also plan on doing a lot more scouting to find areas that will allow a good shot on a big buck from the ground as I no longer can get into a tree stand due to a bad leg.Bill Olmesdahl

My daughter introduced the neighbor boy to archery and he is addicted now.So i will be trying to teach him the thrill of the hunt.Should be a good time. His mom is all for it and took him and my daughter to a buddys archery shop to set him up . They shoot every day in the yard or our basement he's getting pretty good , the best part is his house is right behind ours so the range grew to 45 yrds now..

I know I have to move stands for sure. Been in the same places too long. Going to add a stand in a few spots for a second hunter. A neighbor's kid has also taken an interest. Had him out a couple times last year (his first) and he's drooling to get back at it. I don't anticipate any equipment/gear changes. This past winter we had 2 late winter storms with 18-20" of snow which took down a lot of trees and treetops. I had to do quite a bit of work just to clear a couple of age-old paths I use. I wonder if the deer patterns will change because of debris.

After watching the Major League Bowhunter show, I am going to give what they call the "last 80 yds" being the most important theory a shot. I have always been cautions when entering my stand, but I will admit that I have always used the same path. While previous success has been there, the larger bucks that are in the area seem to be a "no show" when I hunt it. I am going to take wind direction into account when planning on the access to the stand, not just which stand to hunt. Maybe a lot of you guys out there have always done this, but where we hunt, we have paths we have always taken. I plan on going out soon and clearing out multiple paths for the same stands for varying wind patterns. Good shooting!

I for one will be spending a whole lot more time out doing it and not just talking about it here at 3D shoots LOLI've learned that pleasing everyone is impossible, but pissing everyone off is a piece of cake.
