    The one thing he forgot to mention is tie a rope to the top and bottom of your climber.

    I remember when stands included a waist strap, and that's just what it was. Try hanging from your belt. It cut's you in half. Use a harness and hook it up when your in a tree. If your route up a leaner has you on the backside going up but your stand is over air, put in a few steps for handholds or scinch up tight so you can't drop your butt below the platform.
