New clearing job coming up in the spring. As soon as the snow melts. Low impact is going to be key. So I am building a log trailer to tow behind the ATV. Had a bunch of galvanized tubing laying around. Going to build it with walking beam axles. So far the parts list and costs are as follows...
Set of ATV tires on rims-sort of free.(had to watch the guys house while he was away)
Galvanized tubing. Free (got it in a pile of scrap)
Axles and Hubs. $300 (includes shipping)
Various drill bits and things (+/- $50)
Its a work in progress, will update thread as the stages progress if anyone shows intrest.
Still have a few things to aquire to complete it but its coming along alot faster than i thought it would.
There will be alot of welding going on soon.I cut things up and split them down!

Who knew drilling straight holes with cordless drill would be so hard.
But the frame is coming together nicely. Hopefully get some of it welded tomorrow. Red wants to go to the Tack Shop and Tractor Supply. So maybe I will pick up the 2 inch coupler while I am there.I cut things up and split them down!

Where did you find the axles and hubs? I been thinking of making something a long the same lines, I got a bunch of dead ash back in a swampy area that I want to remove. It's to far to carry and I'm afraid of taking my tractor that deep in the woods.Everyone has a plan till they get punched in the mouth.

Do you have an ATV? In not, check out the logrite log arches. We sell them. You can get the small one for less than $600.
Axles and hubs:
I ordered both on Amazon.
The hubs ship from "Southwest Wheel"
The axles ship from Northern Tool.
I just placed a second order for a couple more.
Going to eventually build an arch for the real big stuff.I cut things up and split them down!

I like that ATV arch but is out of my price range. If I find the right hub and tires I was planning on building something that would picking up the front part of the log and let the back drag the ground, I never thought of picking the whole log.Everyone has a plan till they get punched in the mouth.
