    Default Quick Spins

Has any one tested quick spins to see if they take away arrow speed and do you think they really increase accuracy???

Good question, I am currently using the three inch quick spins on my hunting and target arrows but am switching to blazers for my target arrows. I'd like to hear what others say about this.

I havent tested quickspin's but i plan to.
I think for now they have nice name on there product promoting acceracy.
but you could get the same acceracy from many other fletching's on the market today by changeing the helical and creating more spin if that's what your after.

this is true but the quick spins are nice if you have clearance issues. more helicle will cause more clearance problems, and the quick spins actually did shrink my groups . I had to make a minor sight adjustment on my 55yd pin( had to move up about 1/4".) I havent chrono'd them but I dont really think they slow it down that much due to the increased spin, considering they actually weigh a little more than the blazers I was originally using.
some were born perfect........the rest of us have to practice perfect.

A couple of our local ultra competative shooters found themselves at a disadvantage at longer ranges at competitions when using Quick Spins. Velocity dropped off and small errors in range caused them to drop more than they wanted. The Mini Blazers at a couple degrees helical corrected the problem for them. Blazers and Mini Blazers are really good vanes. A lot of us have switched.

try there new mini's. Thats kinda wierd that it slowed them down. The wind tunnel test I saw is that they picked up more speed because of the increase in rotation forced the arrow to pull forward. I use the new mini hunters and love them. There more durable than the ones in the past.

Im know scientist but think about this!
I had a bass boat that had a three blade prop it ran 65mph wide open.
but it wouldnt get out of the hole fast & wasnt stable on plane.
went to the dealer & bought a raker 3-blade with alot more pitch, the boat exploded out of the hole & would get up to speed & was more stable on plane but only ran wide open 62mph, i was happy with it i got up to speed faster.
I dont know but i think you will find the same effect at long range with a bow.
The bow always shoot's with the same max.power that you set it to if you alter the way your arrow shoot's at stright fletch or slight helical to hard turning fletch i think it will slowup down range faster.
