Default have you shot your bow through a chronograph?

I have a switchback xt 60lbs 28in. draw my total arrow weight is around 340 grains. I shot it threw the graph and it shot 255. Does this sound about right? Was a lil disapointed, I understand that IBO is 70 lbs and 30in so I wasnt expecting 315 but thought maybe 280. No Mathews hating PLEASE.

255 sounds a bit low but then again:

+40 grains on the arrow (- 5 fps)
    - 10 pound draw (-5 fps)
    - 2 inches draw weight (- 20 fps)
+ whatever is on your string (- 15 fps)

I would think you should be in the 270's at least

Here are some speeds of my setup I have had:

    HCA Carbon 4Runner Pro (29" draw) @ 68 lbs- 358 grains = 270 FPS
    Bowtech Allegiance (28.5" draw) @ 70 lbs- 373 grains = 294 FPS
    Bowtech Allegiance (28.5" draw) @ 70 lbs- 363 grains = 302 FPS
    Newberry Sabre (29" draw) @ 70 lbs- 363 grains = 294 FPS
    Ross 334 (28.5" draw) @ 71 lbs- 363 grains = 272 FPS
    Ross 337 (28.5" draw) @ 63 lbs- 326 grains = 270 FPS
    New Breed Archery-Genetix 28.5"/ 60lbs & 365gr. = 285 FPS
    New Breed Archery- Eclipse 65/28.5" & 370gr. = 291 FPS
    Bowtech- 82nd Airborne 28.5"/ 60lbs. & 325gr. = 327 FPS

Since you already told us not to do any Mathews hating... you took all the fun out this thread!

It does seem low... I know someone that has a SB XT at 65#, 27" DL and 380 grn arrows shooting 265. Nothing on the strings, stock strings and bow.

I would recheck your equipment and try a different Chrono to see what happens.

lets us know what the outcome is.

    Isnt that -10 lb draw=(-20 fps) ?
    +40 grains on the arrow=( -8 fps)
For every 1lb you change on your bow = 2 fps
For every 5 gr on arrow wt = 1 fps

Yep. That's a Mathews. Once upon a time they were cutting edge fast. Now, oh well..... I don't hate them. I just don't want one.

Shot mine through the chrono before the shop owner shot it.

My setup was this when I shot through it:

    29" 72# 80%
    390gr arrow
    WB rest
Cat whiskers, string loop on the string
    Arrow speed 276fps

As long as it hits the mark that is fast enough for me.

    No.

    Bowtech Allegiance 72# + Easton Axis 400 29" arrows + 100 grain points = pretty fast

    Mathews Ovation 61# + Easton Fatboy 400 29" arrows + 100 grain points = pretty slow

Yeap, that thing needs a tune up bad.

I have a Cougar SE Dynacam, 60#, 30" draw, 450 gr Axis arrow total weight and I am getting 250 fps.
