    Default range!

    30-35yds
    I likem under 28yds because i use only 1 pin on 28yds.
Most shots ive taken were 12 to 22 yds on the last 4 deer.
The longest was 41yds but it was wide open on a gas line.
Didnt like to take it but it worked in those conditions!

My hunting bow only has a 20, and a 30 yard pin. That should tell you my comfort range.

several years ago the DEC published a review of the bow season and in it was the number of reported deer taken and at the yarage of the kill. 95% of all deer killed were taken at under 25 yards. the rest were over 25 yards.... If you look within the 95% a lot of the deer taken were from treestrands adn were less than 15 to 20 yard as a max... I myself maybe due to were I like to hunt I can almost say in the early season it is hard to see over 25% yards in that first 1/2 hour of light or the last 1/2 hour of light... so I like when I have them under 20 yards...I have only once in 40 years + of hunting shot and taken a buck over 35 yards...

I'm good to 50 but yesterday I had a wild hog stand broadside at me at 40 yds and I found myself trying to seek in closer

If its wide open and the deer is calm, 60yrds. But in the hardwoods I usually never get past 40.

10 to 30 but I practice out to 50, but thats more for fun.

I think a 30 yard shot on a big game animal is a fair shot and one we should work at to be the best we can be.

I have never shot past 25 but I think 40 would be my max on deer sized animals under the right conditions. I can group well past that but I wouldnt be comforable with it.

Now elk or buffalo or something like that I would stretch it out a bit further.

My closest shot has been about 3 yds. straight down and my furthest was 25 yds.

With all things ideal, 50 is max on a white tail for me, I have seen them jump the string at 15, max on elk is 75, but thats got to be a good bull and IDEAL conditions... or if im really hungry......

Thirty yards for me. And that's if I had a for sure range on the deer and the deer relaxed.
