I like what Bellows says, a few years old, cream of the crop bow. MQ1, Rival Pro, Pro Tec, Ultratec, Pro 40, etc etc. Figure out his draw lenth first or get something that is adjustable. $200-250 gets you a good bow.

I think Mono's bows are a little over 300 but they are awesome! My buddy bought one and loves it. For the price they are definately some excellent shooting bows, heck even if they were 200+ more they would still be awesome and he has about 20 different bows to address any need you've got.
And he gets the Dredly seal of approval for being an outstanding guy to deal with!
