Make sure are tying the right knot. I use a long nose pliers inside the loop and force the pliers open to cinch down the knots, I have never had one slip. Make sure you melt a decent ball to the ends of the rope. Tie the knots opposite so the tension on the string is equal.

I have tried the wax trick and had it pull out....

at the shop we heat the end of the loop w/the BLUE part of the flame...not the white part...the blue part will not light the loop on fire.....then let it cool completley......make the other knot and use the viper pliers...good as gold....

pulling on both ends to try and get tight on the string then pull on the loop end to try and tighten it up more after that i make sure my arrow is level slide it if it needs it pull on the loop ends (not the pig tails that need burned)
then burn my ends let cool shoot it about 6-10 times and then duck as loop gives way

What kind of rope are you using for the loop? Believe it or not, instead of buy 3 small pieces of camo rope for $6, I go to an outdoor store like Eastern Mountain Sports or REI and buy a couple of feet of 2mm rope that rock climbers use for their accesories its less than a buck a foot and works great.

Seriously, I bought a sety from my local archery shop, and these babies work. Loop will be so tight that you can barely turn it on the string.
