I'll bet most will say pins, me included. I did try a pendulum, and it was pretty good really. But that model did'nt have multiple pins like some do now for ground shooting. Mine was set at 25 on the ground, and worked from the stand from 10-30 yards, closer I would hold a little low. Not much different than a plain pin, especially if your bow has decent speed which most do now. I typically use 3 or 4 pins. If 3, it's 20-30-40. If it's 4 I set an up close (like 10') then 20-30-40. BTW I haven't taken a shot at the real thing much over 25, and most have been 15-20. Just the type of woods here.

Is there a better chance that you would hit tha deer if ya used a pendulum.

Is it cheating to use one.
What is Pope and Youngs rule on them.

Difference for me is if I set one stationary pin at 25 I still have to hold high or low if they're not at 25 yards. With the pendulum as long as they were in that 10-30 yard range the aiming point and POI was right on the money. I don't know what P&Y's regs say on this, can't help ya there Smokes.

The one I use By B&G In NC
will give a range out to 36 yards.

I tried it last year I shot a 4 deer from 8 yds to 24 yds and no problems.. I shoot a slide bar in 3d & Dots using 1 pin so this works out well
Also there is a slide dics system that you can use to shoot from tha ground.
This is a very good system.
I am gonna give it a try agian this year.

I like pins. I practice from an elevated deck so I know where my bow hits at different distances.

I currently use a Savage pendulum but I'm considering going to the new Summit "Hot Spot". it can be used as a 6 pin fixed sight or by flipping a switch it can be converted to a single pin pendulum.
