    Default New bow speed

I would like to see all bow companies post actual speed of new bows at the DL you are buying. Bowtech does it. Does any other company do it? It would really make it easier when buying a bow. What's your opinion?

It's hard...it depends on arrow weight, DW, DL, what's on the string...
Too many variables...it's easier for the shop who sets it up to chrono it...

Bowtech has a birth certificate. It tells you what it shot at factory. If you buy a 29" draw bow, it will say XXX fps. at 70# with 350 grain arrow.@ 29

So then, is the speed of the bow the deciding factor when buying a bow??

Actual speed, compared to advertised speed. Just looking for honesty.

Do they shoot the birth certificate speed bare string or with the little doo-hickies on?

They are supposed to be shot with everything on them just like you get the bow off the shelf.

Dont forget elevation factors, bow is faster in thinner air. Also temp will efect it, its faster when its cold out, limbs are crisper.

Elite sends a sheet with the range of IBO speeds expected at all draw lengths with the bow or at least they did last year.

All of them LIE. Because more and more consumers are letting speed control what they buy.
